November 1-5
This week we did our work from our home office in Eskilstuna. We had planed to focus on the 3D-modeling, but we discovered that only Anna had the program on her work computer. Therefore, Helena needed to wait until next week, when we were back in Älmhult to get some help to fix her computer. Until then we focused on catching up writing report about “Implemented methodology of solutions”, such as describing how we have used our tools and methods during the concept generating, concretization and evaluation tool and also describing the results and conclusions.
Anna made different prepositions in 3D to one of our two concepts and was focused on the function, the most difficult and important thing for us to focus on right now. We needed to draw 3D-models to simulate tests and order prototypes.During these days we also made a PIPS and meeting protocol. At Friday AM we had a meeting with our supervisors from ICOMP over the internet and discussed our 3D-models that Anna had made so far and got some valuable feedback. We had also a meeting with our supervisor at the University and discussed more 3D-modelling and got us some good guidelines. On Friday PM we went to the workshop at school in order to produce some very very simple prototypes of the function of our concepts. We got the opportunity to play some with the milling cutter! We soon realized that it’s very hard to do it by hand, but tried it out anyway only to create something that we could feel, instead of the 3D parts. BUT also because we were both very beautiful in our yellow glasses!

At this moment we were longing to actually send our 3D-models to IKEA’s pattern shop in Älmhult! They make MUCH better prototypes…. And next week they were going to be produced, we couldn’t wait!
