Exciting Future

It has been one full week since I officially took on my new position. I’m now responsible to set-up and structure IKEA Components’ Trading organisation of Greater China.

We are growing rapidly and need to prepare ourselves for the future. From September 1, 2011 we will therefore have one Trading Area in China (TAGC), before we had two; one for Central China and one for South China.

I believe that one Greater China organisation will really give us the benefit of being able to fully focus on supplier developments in securing the total supply chain of our components.
But being one big organisation with responsibility for a majority of the total purchase volume and diverse ranges/suppliers also comes with a great deal of responsibility. Very exciting!

Ingvar Kamprad, the founder of IKEA often states "Most things still remain to be done. Gloriuos Future!". And we (TAGC) are now in the starting block of the race to explore what the future will bring. Success is certainly not given and should not be taken for granted.

We will need motivated and committed co-workers and teams. We will have to work smarter and follow our working routines. We have to develop with our suppliers. And we must be willing to face challenges, but also catch the opportunities. This can however only be done Together.

Personally, I am very proud to be part of the glorious future. And I also have a very good feeling about the new organisation and all the co-workers within ICOMP TAGC. You will be the key to our success!
